Contact Lens Care: Proper way to clean contact lens cases
Contact lens cases need to be properly and regularly cleaned to reduce
the likelihood of your contact lenses from contamination by harmful
bacteria. The simple steps below would help you minimise this risk.
Before using any contact lens case for the first time, you should clean the inside
surfaces of the case thoroughly with warm soapy water to remove any residual
resin left behind by the manufacturing/moulding process. You should then follow
the quick four-step cleaning process described below immediately after and then
at least once a week thereafter:
1. Make sure your hands are clean then rinse the inside surfaces
of the case with multi-purpose/disinfecting contact lens solution.
2. Rub the inside surfaces of the case with your finger.
3. Wipe the inside surfaces with a tissue.
4. Air dry the case with the inside surfaces facing downward.
